Loneliness moves, he is the silhouette
hiding
in the shadows of bending trees
as the branches sway in quietness.
He waits to greet the new night, a
fear grows.
He walks, he feels the sound of footsteps
falling on rain soaked cobblestones,
counting each as fading moments,
forgetful of beginnings an endings.

Curiously he thinks, how many have walked
this path before in loneliness, how many will
tell tales of nightly walks into sadness?
He smells the wetness in the air as
the moonlight shines it's eerie glow,
darting in and out of traveling clouds
as the now finished Spring rains nourish
new life.

Now,
I know why the lonely mind screams,
only to awaken sweating beads of
shame. While lingering visions cling
to fear, a fear so strong a mind crumbles.
A fear of loneliness, as he listens to his
footsteps on rain soaked cobblestones.

Alone,
he slowly fades into the night like the
clouds soaring in the night sky, fleeing
as if on hidden raven's wings,
his mind screams in the darkness.
A fear controls his loneliness, a loneliness
he will embrace forever in the darkness
of his mind. Sounds of his footsteps fade
into the shadows of blackness, forever
gone.
